John F. Koenig is a seasoned Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney with more than 25 years of experience guiding families throughout Wisconsin in protecting what matters most. At the heart of his practice is a deep commitment to empowering clients with the knowledge they need to make informed, confident decisions—ensuring their loved ones stay out of court, out of conflict, and on track to carry out their wishes.
John is known for his ability to simplify complex legal concepts into clear, actionable steps. With compassion, patience, and strong communication skills, he walks alongside his clients through the often emotional and deeply personal journey of planning for the future. His thoughtful, client-centered approach helps individuals and families experience peace of mind and lasting security.
John earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and the National Alliance of Attorneys for Alzheimer’s Planning. His expertise is further supported by his credentials as a Certified Dementia Practitioner and his designation as a Personal Family Lawyer®—a title that reflects his unique commitment to building lifelong relationships with the families he serves.
In addition to his legal practice, John draws from a rich and varied background that brings a holistic perspective to his work. Raised on a small family hobby farm in central Indiana, he developed a strong work ethic, a deep sense of responsibility, and a faith-based foundation that continues to shape his values and approach today. His passion for service extends beyond the office—he actively volunteers with local churches and charitable organizations, offering his time and expertise to support his community.
John is married to Andrea, who serves as Anchor Law’s Client Services Director. Together, they are the proud parents of three grown children and grandparents to a growing number of grandchildren. Outside the office, John enjoys exploring new destinations, hiking Wisconsin’s natural trails, working in the garden, and cheering on his favorite college basketball teams. A proud Hoosier at heart, he remains deeply rooted in his Midwest upbringing and dedicated to helping families leave a legacy of love, wisdom, and intentional planning.

As Client Services Director at Anchor Law, Andrea Koenig brings warmth, professionalism, and a deep sense of purpose to her role. With a natural gift for listening and connecting, Andrea excels at helping individuals and families navigate what can often feel like an overwhelming process. “Most people know they need some kind of planning,” she says, “but not knowing where to start can feel stressful. I love helping people find clarity and watching the relief on their faces when they realize they’re finally on the right path.”
Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and spent several years teaching before transitioning to leadership in the nonprofit sector. Over time, her passion for service and strong interpersonal instincts led her into client services—a field where she truly shines. Her background in education, combined with her experience managing a small nonprofit, has cultivated exceptional communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep empathy for people facing important life decisions.
Since joining Anchor Law, Andrea has become a cornerstone of our client experience. She ensures that each person who contacts our office feels heard, cared for, and confident in the steps ahead. Whether she's coordinating a Life & Legacy Planning Session or supporting clients through the process of finalizing their plan, Andrea brings a calm, steady presence and a heart for helping others.
Originally from Michigan, Andrea has called Wisconsin home for over 20 years. She and her husband, John (founder and lead attorney at Anchor Law), have three grown children and are proud grandparents to three lively and beloved grandchildren. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys hiking Wisconsin’s scenic trails, reading a good book, tending her flower garden, and gathering with her church small group. Her faith and family are central to her life—and it shows in everything she does.
